General Information

The chair WINFOR organizes together with the working group Optimierung und Approximation (OAP) of the Faculty of Mathematics und Natural Sciences and the Chair of production and logistics an interdisciplinary doctoral candidate seminar for the scientific employees of the three chairs this term. It is aim of the doctoral candidate seminar to attain insights into the current research and to discuss also open questions.

Current information concerning the seminar

Information about the room and the exact event appointments are announced in the lecture announcements by e-mail in the course of the term. Please at interest in the lecture announcements let yourself be included in the distribution list.

Expiry of an appointment

After finding and welcoming in the room the lecturer will be introduced briefly. After that the lecture directly starts. The lecture shall start at the latest 10 minutes after the beginning of the event so that the remaining 60 minutes can be used for this.

Form of the presentation

There are no strict specifications for the lecture (beamer or overhead presentation). It is an opportunity to introduce to the topic first for approx. 30 minutes and in the following to design the presentation in dialog with the audience. In the further presentation current difficulties and open questions will be introduced and directly discussed with the audience. It is the advantage of this procedure that ideas and suggestions can directly be expressed and not at the end of the presentation. Of course alternative is also possible to design the lecture more classic so that lecture and following discussion get separated. Urgent understanding questions can, however, be expressed directly in every case.

In the two cases 60 minutes for the lecture and the discussion are able to be used.
