Qualification goals:
After successfully completing this module, students will have a basic and comprehensive understanding of modern operations research methods for solving specific integer problems in operations management. They will be able to analyse various basic optimisation techniques from current OR literature, know their advantages and disadvantages and can therefore assess their applicability for solving a given practical problem. The course is structured according to the choice of methods. Operations management problems are considered in order to explain, analyse and validate the respective methods. The problems to be solved are defined and the solution algorithms presented are evaluated with the help of suitable mathematical model formulations.
